Who are we?

Our website address is: http://www.okefenokeebassethounds.com

What personal data we collect and why we collect it.

We require all of your basic information for the purpose of records that we are required to have on file for our puppies. We typically do an initial interview to determine if your family and our puppy would be a good fit together. This is usually done over the phone with a Q&A or via our questionnaire. We gather as much information as we can about your family and offer you as much information about what we are and what it is exactly that we do here at Okefenokee Basset Hounds. Once you have passed part 1 of our process, we move on to step 2, pairing you up with a puppy and gathering information needed for your adoption paperwork and registration with AKC. All Paperwork is provided to you after the last puppy is rehomed from our season of puppies. This is not suggested nor is it negotiable. It is REQUIRED in order to become a puppy family to our Basset Hound Puppies.

Who do we share your data with?

Your data collected is for the sole purpose of the puppy you are adopting or attempting to adopt/purchase and will be used accordingly. We keep records filed for the life of your puppy and are then destroyed. We share this information with AKC and AKC Reunite for the sole purpose of registering your puppy and their microchip. This is all required in order to obtain a puppy from our program.

How do long we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
